I absolutely agree with the review submitted on May 7, 2009. My child received a sound early childhood education at SGES, but will spend the rest of his life getting over the social bullying that is standard procedure at this school.

My child attended SGES from K-8th grade. I have watched SGES grow into a solid educational institution with the most qualified and gifted staff and administration I have ever seen. I am a public school educator and chose SGES for the solid, college-prep curriculum as well as the foundation the school is setting academically, morally, and spiritually. The administration, faculty and staff knew my child. They cared about what was going on in their lives and made an effort each day to help them become the best that they could be. The environment is nurturing, yet challenging. The children are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones knowing someone would be there to pick them up when they fell. The environment is set up so it was 'cool to be smart' and 'cool to be kind'. My child was extremely prepared for high school and has excelled in all areas.

I feel that there is now continuity on both the Board and faculty. I have watched this school over the years, prior to being a parent, confront some serious growing pains. I could not be happier with the current administration and also the Church representation. I feel that the previous posters complaint about preferential treatment of teachers' children is very possible. However, knowing both students and teachers at other public and especially private institutions I do not feel that it is more prevalent than other schools. The curriculum is superior to any of the public institutions nearby. It is comparable to most private institutions in the area. That is until you approach the better Atlanta private schools. Our time at the school has been very pleasant and our child has enjoyed the school too!

I would have to agree with the first review submitted by a parent. Our experience wasn't good at this school either. Too many mother's of the children that attend the school work there. There has been a lack of leadership. Some of the faculty is truely great but there seems to be a negative atmosphere throughout the school. Some of the faculty in the past has been there for the wrong reasons and lead the school by monetary contributions rather than students earning awards.
