St. Paul Lutheran School

I stand behind my rating of this school and MY CHILD HAS NEVER HAD ANY BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS NOW OR IN THE PAST. My child goes to another private school now and we have no problems whatsoever, my child LOVES school now and wants to go even when sick - BULLYING is NOT TOLERATED-this was not the case at ST. Paul!!!!!! My child is involved in extra-curricular activites and school and has never had the problems she encounterd at St. Paul. My child was bullied and the school did NOTHING! The teaher, some other staff members and principal were horrid!! The board not any better! My husband and I have failed at nothing and to imply that something is wrong with our child shows the ignorance of people at this school. I participated in the PTL briefly and heard first hand of the bullying problems in many of the grades. Maby you are a bad parent and do not mind sending your child to an below par school. I am educated enough to know the difference!! Maby you need to go in for some parentling classes!! Oh- the prior review was probably written by a staff member of this school to make them seem less negligent! If you send your child here you will regret it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SUPERIOR SCHOOL, OUTSTANDING TEACHERS, INCREDIBLE PRINCIPAL. These are the things that come to mind when I think of St. Paul. My three children have attending St. Paul since they were in the two year old preschool program. I now have a child thriving in McIntosh High, a middle school student at St. Paul who is in the top 2% nationally on the IOWA tests and an elementary child at St. Paul that loves school. My children have grown spiritually and academically in a caring, safe, and academically challenging environment. The teachers and Principal are extremely responsive to both students' and parents' needs. Do not hesitate to send your child to St. Paul! Perhaps those that have been unhappy with this wonderful school have been unable to control their own child's behavior and feel the need to blame others when it is they themselves that have failed.

I would think twice before choosing this school. They do not have their bullying issues under control and in my opinion that is unsafe and unacceptable. I do not feel that the principal is a person that I would want to influence the educational background of my children. He is unavailable except when you are agreeing to sign a contract for your child to attend his school and then he is unhelpful- he will tell you what you want to hear to get you out of his office and then go back and do the opposite and then deny ever speaking with you. And the School Board is even worse- one is supposed to be a minister? They are dishononest in my opinion and do not have the best interest of chilren at heart. I feel they hire less than the best teahcers to save mnoney for the schoo because at the end of the day that is all they really care about in myb opion. Just take a look as the grades increase they loose more and more students - this is a sign if I ever saw one. There are plenty of good private schools out there. I would really review all the schools in my area before settling for this so called educational institution.

Very disappointed in teachers and faculty. Unbelievable amount of bullying goes on at this school. So do not be fooled into believeing that private means safer or anti-bullying. If you have the tuition money they have the time and they call themselves Chritians- hypocritical in my opinion. My child had 2 teachers here one was burned out beyond belief and taught the kids little in my opinion. The second was so you just out of college and very green- she had no control over her class which caused for major bullying issues and for her to allegedly loose her temper. The principal is a glorified salesman car salesman if you will. He will sell you a seat at his school with aa big grin and lots of promises, then once he gets you into a contract and gets your money he has not time for you, you and your kids are liars when it comes to some of his favorite teachers, he yells and intimidates parents and kids -- He is the last person I would have forseen being a principal in a christian based school. What a nightmare!! Proceed with caution!!
