My little boy go to this school and he loves it! He is in a 1/2 dual-language french class and swims every week for 1 hour in the indoor pool in the building! He loves it and the parent involvement is great, well thats what my husband says(he is a part of the parents association). This school is great you would be crazy not to send your child here!
It's a trilingual school with small classes and enthusiastic teachers, offering scholars the opportunity to engage French and Spanish, and the strategic possibility of adding other communication outlets. It also has a ''live' parent association, and may be considered the 'diamond in the rough' elementary school.
The PS 125 School is going through a transition and refocusing its strategic energy. It has both pros and cons. It lacks overall synergy. It's still threading its way to create an overall smooth and cohesive energy, that will generously motivate staff, children and families. On the brighter side, the test scores have steadily increased over the pass two years. They have a Dual Language English-French program, and enrichment after school activities. However, there is still a need and demand to fully utilize the existing physical resources; for example, they have a swimming pool but so few students taking lessons; they have a music room, but not with a full program and limited access; they have a community computer resource room on the 6th floor but not fully integrating this into the academics of the school. Lots of great resources just in need of great coordination and development.
