I am a current student at Riverview High School and can say the school has really slipped in the last few years. When I was in middle school a few years back, most students were doing great with keeping their grades up and keeping good behavior. Today, half of the senior class is missing credits and there are more fights and bomb threats than I have ever seen before at the school. If you move into the district, really consider talking to some of the current students that go to school here before making your kid put up with the unsatisfactory teachers and administration.

It's interesting the dates on the below-reviews; I think RHS was the school they describe but unfortunately has gone downhill considerably in the past 5 or so years. Yes there are great, bright kids who graduate and do well- but there are also way too many who slide through and come out woefully unprepared for the future. The environment is coarse (to put it nicely) and despite largely-bright, committed, and caring teachers... I would be hesitant to send my child here.

Riverview is a small school with a big heart for their students. My daughter graduated in 2004 with honors and they helped set the foundation for her future. Mr.Rosenberg, the principal at that time, would stand at the door in the morning and greet every child with their name and some praise. Where else do you see that happen? The teachers followed his lead. That gave the students the knowledge that they cared for them and it showed in the way the children progressed in their studies and everyday living. Out of 89 graduating students that year almost half of them were honor or high honor student and almost half into sports or extracurricular activites. I grew up in a inner city school and could only wish that all children would have the opportunity that Riverview provides. I Applaud Them!

Riverview High School provides a 'private school' atmosphere due to small class sizes. My son has been able to participate in the music program as well as take advance level courses to his benefit. There are many teachers who are excellent and provide excellent service to the student population. I am generally pleased with his educational program but would like to see more opportunities available for all students who show interest in their education.

Our six-grader Daughter, enjoys the freedom of choice. We allow her to pick and choose as she makes good choices, she has demonstrated responsibility in her decisions. Making (Pizza) & Tomatoes) are Vegetables came from USDA. Freedom of Choice.

No. I prepare my son's lunch just about every day due to his special needs so I know what he is consuming both for him and his class. I want to be aware of all ingredients in all foods/drinks which he is consuming.

If it is to keep allergic kids safe, then no. A strict rule of no peanuts or pb&j should be enough. My child's school had a peanut free table for double insurance. If for "nutritional" reasons, then NO! Since when is pizza a veggie????... More »
