PS 144 is a great school and has wonderful faculty and staff. I have two girls that have attended since kindergarten, and are now in 4th grade. They love school and their teachers. The residencys add alot to the curriculum, as do the PA association, who do nothing but make this the BEST school around with all the fund raising efforts !

My son has been going to PS144 since Pre-K. He is now a 5th grader. Homework keeps him busy but never too stressful. He got a high 4 on his ELA statewide test '08-'09. His science and social studies knowledge is rather sound for his grade. He loves going to school and has had perfect attendance except when he was sick. The residency, field days and ballroom dancing make any school day fun and interesting. As a parent, I cannot ask for a happier, fun-filled learning environment than PS144. With a strong Parent Association like PS144, students can only benefit from parents involvement in upholding residency programs. The PA website is packed with information for parents to plan ahead and is a good means to distribute information and updates from school. The art gallery link is filled with brilliant students work ready to treat parents who can spend the time.

This school definitely has a strong PA and wonderful parent involvement that benefits our children. In terms of the curriculum, I think it can be a litte more challenging and diverse. I also believe that some of the teachers are not that qualified and can use a few lessons on interaction skills.
