I love this school! It currently houses the majority of the pre-k classes in district 86. This year there was a cut in funding and many of the classrooms had to be moved, which is unfortunate. Most of the students are in special ed, learning english as a second language, or otherwise deemed at risk. The environment is lovely and the teachers have a very positive attitude. My two baby brothers, who I care for 40+ hours a week currently attend the school. One is autistic and the other has a speech/language disorder. Both love going to school and are excelling in the environment. It is clear the staff genuinely care for the students, the principal even knows most of the children by name. The school demonstrates how well run public preschool programs can really make a difference!

My son started at Marycest at the age of 3 with a very small and hard to understand vocabulary. From the moment he started school his progress has been great. All of the teachers are wonderful, they know there stuff! All seem to work together well and care about two things, our children and the education that they are getting. The last day was the saddest. I cried more on the last day then I did on the first day! To be fair, I must add we did have one teacher who we did not like for many reasons besides her methods. And Pricipal Gorden was allready on top of the problem when I came to her with concerns. A+ All the way!
