There are more extracurricular activities than football. The kids can participate in basketball, cheerleading, and baseball. There are clubs that the kids can choose to participate in such as 4-H, junior FFA, and student council. There are at least 4 dances a year that parents can volunteer to help chaperone or help decorate and clean up for. There is a PTA type group called the PTP (Parent Teacher Partnership) which has more teachers as members than parents! When students leave the elementary school, many parents send them on their merry way. If you want to be involved, help your child study and make sure he's at school, VOLUNTEER to help at dances and ballgames,to go on fieldtrips, and to lead students in community VOLUNTEER activities.

LCMS has been a welcome surprise to my family. Parents who have negative feelings about the school are very verbal. The only opinions I had heard about the school was negative. Now that I have a child attending I have been pleasantly surprised! The teachers are very helpful with academic progress and also involve themselves (when needed) in social issues that effect the overall well being of students. My experience has been exceptional including with the principal and staff.

There is no parental involvement because it is discouraged by both administration and teachers. The only extracurricular activity encouraged is football. Gifted education money is spent on field trips the teachers want to take, never on the students. There is no school spirit, no county involvement, unless it is the state football championship. Period.

There is definately too much access to high school influences. This school needs drastic updating to meet modern standards. Some of the teachers are less than adequate. The principal lacks backbone. I will proablaby put my children in private schooling at the end of this year.

By doing it in the funnest way possible,we have to make it exciting for them. Maybe reward them after they are done AND DID THERE BEST. Parents must be totally involved.

You shouldn't, have a study hall if they need help. When you learn you need a teacher, students can study on their own time.
