Redwood Heights is a fabulous school with lots of parental and community involvement. In these challenging economic times, it's good to know that because of this strong community our children will continue to have the resources needed for a strong education. The school now has a new principal with a strong vision and is already making her mark.
I love the teachers, the parent support and involvement and the expectation that all kids will excel.
If your child is performing above great level don't expect that your child will be challenged at this school. The curriculum is mediocre and caters to those students trying to reach grade level. It leaves behind the brighter students who need a challenging curiculum.
Great school with strong parental involvement and community support. Parents who attended the school are now sending their children to the school with fond memories. Unfortunately it is a small school which limits the number of children who can attend. This problem impacts several other schools in Oakland and the OUSD is trying to work on a fair solution to solve the problem.
