The principal and administration are trying very hard to improve Polk Avenue and are extremely pleasant and caring professionals. The atmosphere of the school in general is quite chaotic and unorganized. The veteran teachers are absolute gems! Unfortunately some of the newer staff has much to be desired. I wish the school would focus more on civil behavior and respect for one another over just teaching the FCAT. There is much more to life than being rated an "A" school. The children do not have respect for one another or the staff.
i am a mother of 2 kids who attend this school.I give it a 4 star rating the organization skills are poor but improving.the teachers and most staff are great.I do think kindergardeners need a nap as well as recess,which they do not get.The principal is doing a great job improving the school.They try hard to get the parents involved but to no avail they won't show up.school has changed so much since we went to school.
The teachers and staff at Polk Ave are the best! The teachers really do put the students first and make sure that every student is doing their best.
