While basically the school performs at State required levels, they fall way short on ability to take on new projects and excel. IE; special education. The good ole boy system is alive and well at TBE. This administrator needs to step down.

the school as a whole is wonderful. the principal seems at times to have no patience. he is not open to anyones' ideas and will run things his way. it is more like a dictatorship, though he does seem to care about putting respectful young people out in the world.

This is a small rural school which provides a safe atmosphere for students. Most of the students know all of the other students, and it is like one big family. There is very little peer prussure to engange in undesirable activities. The teachers are all very much engaged in the education of the whole child. I am proud to call Tonto Basin my child's school.

Find something you are good at or enjoy doing a lot, just one thing. You'll gain confidence and meet other kids that enjoy that activity too. Mine was singing in choir. I wasn't good at anything else but that built my confidence for other things... More »
