Mary Jo Small Child Care Center at Brookland Woods is a wonderful place. My son attended there full-time for 3 years and now attends there for after-school care. The center's philosopy is child-centered and play-based. Children ages 2 and up are accepted into the program and all ages are mixed together. All ages have a 6:1 child:staff ratio (not including the 2 full time directors). This is a small center with approx. 28 children (full-time equivalents). The center does offer part-time and after school care as well. One parent must be a faculty, staff or student at the University of Iowa.
