My son attended 2nd grade at smes and Mrs Stanley was a phenomenal teacher. To date the best teacher he has had. She was very caring and compassionate. I have to agree though with one of the comments about the staff making you feel unwanted alomost like your bothering them if you have questions. The principle and vice principle are not very well known or friendly. I thought the guidance counciler was the principle for the first couple of months as he was the one greeting everyone by name and with a big smile every morning. I didnt even now who the principle was until this year. However his teacher was great and he was more interested in school.
I have 2 children who currently attend SMES. I feel that it is a wonderful school. My children have received an outstanding education. It is apparent that the teacher love what they do and love the children they teach. The kindergarten program is great!! They work hard to prepare the children for 1st grade. My son will be going to middle school next and it pains me that he will no longer be attending SMES. I wish his wonderful teachers could follow him. SMES is the closest thing St. Marys has for a private school. It has a small, private school feel. We can't wait to move into the new building!!
I have 3 children who attend this school one of which will be moving on to Middle School .I am pleased with this school for the most part but i have to say that they are definatley lagging in the staff dept . The office personal as well as the principal and vice principal have a way of making you feel like your not always welcomed and that has always botherd me . However as the teachers go they have some of the best ,not all, but some . I also have to say that identifying children who need extra help in certain areas in a much more timely manner could definatley improve .I have alot of mixed feelings about this school due to positive and unsatisfactory experiences.

St. Marys Elementary is the best. It has a strong, qualified administration; loving, knowledgeable teachers; caring, involved parents; and exceptional, amazing students. There is a stellar Gifted program with motivated teachers, many different extracurricular activities, and lots of opportunites for parent involvement. Office staff is on the ball, and very aware of visitors' comings and goings. Parents are welcome but do not have
