Most teachers at Jefferson are great. They care about the kids and do a great job teaching. I do not see much parental involvement. It takes teachers and parents together to help a child to learn. The teachers can't do it all. My child doesn't want to attend any other school.

Jefferson Elementary is an excellent place to learn. Faculty and staff are helpful and willing to accomodate both children and parents. The school offers several opportunities a year for the parents to come to the school and participate in activities with their children. Jefferson also offers many extracurricular activities for the students. This year the school was able to offer the children Spanish in an on-site after-school program through John A. Logan College. Marion Unit 2 Schools also offer a variety of extracurricular summer programs. My child was in private school from the age of 2 until she was 5. We have been equally, maybe even more impressed with her experience at Jefferson. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the school to anyone.

No. I have heard of teachers setting up FB pages on areas of study so students can use technology as a learning tool. All posts are public and private messages are disabled. I won't even friend former students. I do it as a rule-no hurt feelings.

No! As an educator, I don't want to be held responsible for what students are doing outside of the classroom.

Absolutely not. Most schools offer the homework question site through the school system. They do not need to be "friends" with their students through social networking sites.
