I have been very impressed with Onsted Middle School. I was a student there years ago and remember it being a place of undisciplined chaos. Things are much better now. The principal and teachers have a wonderful relationship with the students. They really care about the students' knowledge and quality of life. When my daughter was in 6th grade, we received regular communication from the staff via email about the week's agenda, etc, and it always helped me feel 'in the loop.' I don't think parent involvement is high enough, and feel more could be done to encouage this, especially as compared to the elementary school, where parent involvement is so high. I agree that the lunches need to be more nutritious, but most schools struggle with this. Overall, I have been pleasantly surprised by Onsted Middle School. I highly recommend it.
Onsted Middle School is a school with a lot extracurricular activities such as football, basketball, and others that are outside of school. The Teachers teach what is necessary for the MEAP Tests and ready us for the next grade. Parent Involement is high, especially in dances when they just want to see their kids have fun. Hello i live in onsted and i would like to tell you about my school. My school has the worst lunch food and wont do anything about it. I talked to the lunch ladies about it and tried to help them to change it cause there has been allot of complaints, they said'just pack your lunch!'. So, i am going to get allot of kids to bring a packed lunch. So then they will listen to me and the kids wont be so unhealthy. The main serving is pizzza and fries? thats why there are so many fat kids cause there is unhealthy food that the adults give the kids! sincerly, dylan miller 8th grade oms
