I like the school allot and wish i could stay there my whole school time but it only goes to 8th grade and this is my last year at that that school. I really like it and wish everybody could go there.
Like most parents I think the focus is too much on the test, I spent a day at school with my son last year and was very impressed with the teachers and the behavior of most of the students. I am also very proud of the band
NSMS is a pretty good school. From a teacher's point of view, I don't like how the leadership focuses way too much on TAKS...but all schools do that. Our extracurriculars are great...especially band, choir, and LOTC. The yearbook staff has been state-recognized and has won several awards for their journalism. Discipline is handled well and the facility overall is good. The custodial staff works very hard. I'm happy there.
This school seems to be overly caught up in the TASK test instead of what the children are actually learning in class.
