My child attended CWM for 2 years. My lingering impression was that this school places a significant focus on the SOL's, for better or for worse. After my daughter's first year, CWM cut each class length to create an SOL Prep class, to improve scores. I don't know if this was the standard for Virginia schools to manage the SOL's this way, but my child got straight A's without much effort, but still had to receive a grade in SOL Prep class to make sure she could pass the SOL test, for material that was well below what she was covering in her other core classes. They have many honors classes, which is great for meeting the needs of those kids that need an extra challenge. But the curriculum all appears to go on hold when SOL test time comes around.

A hidden gem in Chesapeake!!! I could not have asked for a better school for my children to attend. The faculty and administration truely cares for all the students there. The principle greets me by my name, not because my child has been to see her for discipline problems, its becuase she knows her students and the parents that are involved! The school it self is old, but they make the best with what they have. Students are treated as young men & women and are also held accountable as such, no slackers at CMS. Student are encourged daily and extra attention is given when needed. Falcon Pride Baby!!!
