I think overall the education is pretty positive, most teachers are good and fair to students. There are a few that could be weeded out. Leadership there could be improved upon. There are excellent parent volunteers, but behavior problems do exist within the classroom.
i agree with the turn around and need for competent administration that treats all children with the same demeanor. One that teachers will respect and bring innovative learning. One that will give a couple of warnings to bulliies and verbal harrasment to be eliminated from school.
I currently have two children that go to St. Mark School. We have been there since it first opened up 6 years ago. Yes, the school has gone through some changes and a few growing pains. And there were a few parents that wanted to have things run their way. But, with that being said, St. Mark Catholic School is hands down the BEST school in Wilmington academically by providing abroad Curriculum (technology, art, music in addition to there core academic classes) all in a very safe and personal environment. All of the teachers are there because they want to teach your children and not because they have too. St. Mark has competed at regional and state level in several areas from math to science to essay writing. They are a strong school with and outstanding Principal for a leader.
This school is the best private school in the Wilmington area. The children are safe and have a broad base of educational subjects, including foreign language and technology skills. The teachers are highly qualified and care about the students. The principal is always available for her students and parents showing genuine support and care in her role. She is fair and impartial to all. The academics and behavior policy are superior.They have also implemented many after school activities and sports.
