My daughter's experience at McGinnis Woods Day Preschool has been a positive. I have much respect and admiration for the teachers. The management at the preschool level lacks personal and management skills. Make sure you get to know your teachers!
It is an absolutely great shcool. Great teachers who care about the kids and their education. It is pricy but worth every penny.
I have just read the reviews of McGinnis and I am wondering what school some of these people are reviewing. The administration is thoughtful and involved. I never felt unwelcome to express my views or just to have them listen to suggestions. The teachers are wonderful and caring. Perhaps the advantage of a small school and small classrooms doesn't appeal to everyone but I found it to be invaluable. My daughter went into Kindergarten able to read@ 1st grade level, able to count to 100 by 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s, knowing the continents and more. Since she has done science experiments and is able to do math (addition and subtraction up to 20). If she can go beyond, the teachers encourage her. If she needs more help, they work with her. This is a gem of a school and so are the teachers, admin, and owners.
I have taught at McGinnis Woods for five years. The amount of support we as teachers receive is second to none. The administration and the parents care about each of us. The children are the best. I couldn't imagine teaching any where else!
