I completely agree with ". I think this school is more concerned with strictly enforcing every rule emagineable, than actually teaching students what they need to learn to become productive adults. I want my kid to taught, not policed. He's willing to learn anything, just teach him something new". Plus they give the students extra grades for things they don't control, like "bring in a ream of paper and you get an extra A" or "If your parent comes to Open House, you get an extra A". It's ridiculous!! My child earns A's & B's and is bright, friendly, and respectful. But this school gets ridiculous on the amount of energy they put into policing.

My son attends BVMS for 6th, 7th and now 8th grade. He loves the school but does not feel the teachers take there time in teaching and explaining. On a daily basis we as parents have to help in detail with homework and at times it gets frustration because we as parents are not sure how they want the child to learn the material. Also it would be nice at this level if they would really teach the students how to study. We as parents tell the child to study and can I help but at school with educated teacher I as a parent would love it if they would have a studies skilled class.

Bayou View is one of the best schools not only in the state but in the country. The administrative and teaching staff in above compare. The school atmosphere is great and the diversity is one of it's best atributes. If you are a parent looking for a school that is equally competitive for everyone thwn this is the place for you. Go Vikings!
