My daughter had wonderful teachers at Cheviot which is a neighborhood school and can use all the help they can get!

Cheviot is more than a school, it is a community. It is led by a fearless leader and Mrs. Bonavita. People don't realize all the things that Mrs. Bonavita does behind the scenes. Some of the teachers are not very positive and that ruins the schools atmosphere. The school is not about what the school looks like on the outside, it is whats on the inside of the nice school. The staff makes up a great deal of the school's positive energy. So the next time you rate the school, ask the students in middle school and they will tell you everything about how great this school actually is. The Middle School tries ther very hardest to make a differance in the lives of people younger. Sure, the school isn't perfect, but the Middle School is doing their best to make this school excellent.

I am 36. I went to cheviot, my 17yr old went there and now my 8yr old goes there also. I can't say i have never had 1 single problem with cheviot but i can say that over all things went well. I can tell you with comparing my 2 kids, who are 10 yrs a part in age that attendance and sticking to a set schedule of events is the secret. If your child gets behind whether it is a teacher having a rough personal life that year or your kid getting in a rut of not wanting to attend school ...It can make or break a good school year, a school career! my youngest who has never missed a day of school since kindergarten is now in 2nd grade and has a 3.75! Make them go to school every day no matter what!! don't cop out and blame the school!!

If I could give this school less than a star I would. The standards are beyond poor and just because the building is relatively new doesn't mean it's a quality school. And as a parent I do not feel welcome nor have I been treated with respect nor kindness. Message to Cheviot: next time you want to spend money on 'improving' the school, improve the quality of the education and the environment first.
