i definately have to agree with whom ever posted the first comment. almost every student from GHS goes to Blinn...wow! they are guaranteed acceptance there...that's why they all go there. the staff are not all nice people. if you didn't make good grades or understand completely they wouldn't give you the time of day to help you understand. mrs belyeu is one of the only teachers i would say is there for her students. the only thing GHS has going for them is the football team and their band...thats it.

I graduated from Giddings High School in 2007 and I believe that GHS is a great school. The administration and teachers show true leadership and are very friendly. Like all schools (especially small town schools), it has its problems, such as older buildings (though I hear they are planning a new school...), limited financial resources, small town politics.. but, it also has a staff of passionate and qualified individuals who really go the extra mile when students show a willingness and desire to learn. Also, the extra curricular activities there are outstanding in many areas, from athletics, to UIL academics, to even things that typically do not get as much recognition, like clubs, band and art. The community is very supportive of the school and many parents help out as much as possible. I recommend it

GHS is an excellent school. The principals, teachers, and counsleors do an excellent job of getting kids ready for college in an atmosphere that is safe and productive. I am very thankful that my child is a student at Giddings High school.

This school may not be the nicest high school ever, but the teachers are extremely friendly and so is the principal. My daughter goes to school there and loves all her teachers and makes many friends.I went to GHS and graduated from the University of Texas, and so will my daughter since she makes good grades! It depends on the students attitudes that tells whether they will go to college or not, not the teachers.GHS also has a good athletic program.

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
