Lewisville Elementary teachers do strive to improve their students work. Both of my daughters attend this school and most programs are geared to help the accel. The children being left behind are not being assisted by their families. As a volunteer in classrooms I have seen the differences between students whose families are engaged and those whose families are not. It is horribly sad to see the failures and know the teachers have only so much influence but can recieve all of the blame.
I am somewhat disappointed in LES. Before my children attended LES, they attended other elementary schools and there was more opportunities to excel. This year has definately been an adjustment. Some of the key staff need to focus on the betterment of the child instead of their position. When it comes to children, issues are not always as clear as black and white; there are gray areas as well. Anyone in education should know this. When workloads become overwhelming and staff forget the importance of impressions and the power they have to create lasting impressions in children's lives, it is time to consider another career or to seek additional training.
We moved to LES at the beginning of last year. My child has some special learning needs. It took awhile to get that straight but, then my child seemed to do much better. In my opinion the parents need to be more involved with their children and the school (the teachers can only do so much). Overall after one year attending your school I am happy with the progress my child has made. Thank you!!
I have a child that attends LES. Most of his experiences there are good ones. Although i do feel that some of the staff members could be a little friendlier. I also experienced that more of the parents should become more involved with their child's education. You can learn alot from a child's home life thru his/hers actions at school. I feel that this is something more parents need to consider too.
