Well at first i was not sure about this school, one because the ride was so long , from Bloomfield to Union City ,but =after 6 years and 5 children later , i was starting to get convinced ,the thing that really did it was this summer when i really found out the true Love that the principal has towards the children , she travels from the Bronx to Union City everyday is from Bloomfeild is Nada ,the teachers and faculty are great ,the educaton part is good my kids have homework everyday, lets not forget about the main thing ,the FAITH that is tough to my kids , thats more then any public school can do or will do . Thank You Mother Seton . PEACE !!!! A . M
Mother Seton School has a reputation for educational excellence. It not oly educates students in high academic excellence, but teaches a fine faith based education. This cannot be provided by the Public School. The teachers are very caring and involved in all aspects of the school. I have been very happy with the education. My older children have gone on to honors programs in High School and College. My children received an education for life. As a parent I am very active in Mother Seton and proud to be a part of educating children within the Catholic Church.
My daughter just finished preschool. She enjoyed her classes. They had homework every night. She had a different teacher for Gym, Art and Music class. They studied the alphabets, their sounds, numbers, days of the week and how to write their names, numbers & alphabets, just to name a few. Although, we didn't always see the Principal, the secretary was always on top of everything in the school. I wish there was a PTA. However, they do have parent volunteers at the school everyday, whether in the classrooms, lunch time or assisting the secretary.
The academic program is not strong at all. Most the students who graduated from Mother Seton had difficulties in HS, in almost all of the subjects and especially in math. I had expected a higher excellence from a Catholic School; however, the Public School curriculum was much stronger. The Principal should have taken action and review their curriculum and make improvements. Hopefully improvements are in the horizon soon. Overall, I am quite disappointed.
