The teachers and the staff were very quick to tell me that all my child's problems were my fault, but never even considered what was right in front of their eyes: my daughter has a learning disability that I discovered after they told me what a horrible parent I was.

Awesome School! Great teachers! Our children have flourished at this wonderful place. Mrs. Ireland, Mrs. Brymesser, Mrs. Hoffman, Mrs. Bartlett- All wonderful and caring teachers that go way above and beyond for their students. I'm sure there are more teachers just like them at the school that we will meet as our children progress.

Highland is a great school! It is in a newer building and just increased its teacher population by about one per grade due to redistricting. It does not seem as though we added many students though. Two things to be watchful of--there's not really a decent second grade teacher in the group (unless the new teacher proves to be good). If you can get through second grade, you'll be OK. Second, I wouldn't give Highland the best grades for special needs children (those with IEPs). They are really just OK with these children and could do much better. Otherwise, there are lots of extra curricular activities as the children get older, and there is also a lot of parent involvement.

You get what your tax dollars pay for! Excellent school for the money in my opinion.

Check to see if students with disabilities are a priority because otherwise the state doesn't pay for that child to go to School if they don't have a disability your child has to be put on a waiting list for pre-k! if their not

1.Go on a tour of a school tour 2. Talk to the director (and the teacher your child will have) about what the students day like. 3. Watch school in session 4. Look out for red flags: neglected children at play, lazy, non engaging teachers
