I graduated from Oneonta schools & after spending the last 15 years down South - I am SO glad to have my son in school here. OMS is a wonderful A+ school
My son attended and did well. The quality of teachers varies widely as does their consistency. The principal tries to help and returns calls/e-mails quickly. However, that too varies widely with teachers and other administrators. A couple teachers need to show more compassion/flexibility but most were appropriately helpful and caring. Overall, a good experience.
The teaching staff is quite competent for the most part and there are a plethora of good kids. But, as the school has to draw students from several rough neighborhoods, there are a fair few students that you do not want your kids involved with.
Well, actually I am not a parent, I am a student at Oneonta Middle School. I would just like to say that this is a great school for kids to go to because it's not to big or too small, so you know a lot of people and you can make a lot of friends. And another thing is, our teachers are great.
