This charter school is careful about its students. Schedules and study plans are created for self directed student work, in all subjects that interest an individual. Low pressure, yet firm direction and guidance are key in the success of its members. Regular HS classes are part of the agenda, when they suit a person's requirements for music, or any other specific direction the student wishes. It has made stronger, more broad minded people of both my sons. All the students at Laurel do regular community based, helping activities. They made gardens for the elderly, raise funds or poverty relief, gather materials for cancer rehab, and participate in International Awareness day.The school director is fun, gracious, and always there for each one of her people. This is a great idea. I really hope it goes on forever.
