the teachers set aside time to make sure the students are understanding the material. They do not let students fall behind, and their methods of teaching are wonderful.

I agree with you about the use of computers to teach the students, in both their math and reading program. Also this school relies heavily on parental involvement as far as overseeing their children's homework. I can't understand why these teachers can't get the job of teaching done at school (especially in upper elementary).I also don't understand why the administration does nothing to address this issue. I don't believe these teachers could teach, without depending on parents to help them each night and oversee the additional school work that is regularly sent home. The school day is long and teachers ought to strive to get their job done during the school day and not expect parents to finish THEIR JOB!

The Elementary teachers have a problem playing favoritism toward other students who have parents working in the system. From my experience they are trying to use computers to teach the children instead of the teachers doing it. When this happens, they lose sight of what level each child is on and if they need extra help. With this, you have a tendency not to know your child is struggling until you see a report card. I had a particular incident where in Dec '05 I had 2 teachers ensure me they would not be doing much work and what was being done would be done in the class and my child should not have a problem with grades. The next thing I know, I receive a report card in which my child had failed the class in which these 2 teachers ensured me my child was doing fine.
