I think this is a great school. Though the physical plant is currently under construction, the school continues to function and seems to flow. We switched to this school this year from a nearby charter school and have been very happy with our child's teacher, who is hardworking and dedicated to her students.

Great school district, and the funding is not impacted by the small size. The district is considered one of the wealthier districts in the state, and the children in this district have all sorts of art and music classes besides the basic '3 R's'.

The teachers are very knowledgable, and a new building is going to house the school within two years so that is exciting. It is an expensive area to live in as well as being remote, but the school is very competant and the small size keeps the focus on my child.

Mendocino is a beautiful town. But with housing costs at a high level, not as many young families are moving to the area. This has an impact on the enrollment of the school and therefore funding. Although, my children have had a great experience thus far.

No. I have heard of teachers setting up FB pages on areas of study so students can use technology as a learning tool. All posts are public and private messages are disabled. I won't even friend former students. I do it as a rule-no hurt feelings.

No! As an educator, I don't want to be held responsible for what students are doing outside of the classroom.

Absolutely not. Most schools offer the homework question site through the school system. They do not need to be "friends" with their students through social networking sites.
