PHS has done well for my son. His class ranks high academically, great school spirit, excellent sports and music programs. Arrival this year of a new principal has been a very positive change along with a new superintendent of the district. High expectations that this positive change will continue in all Penfield schools.

A solid faculty and good facilities but hamstrung by an administration that thinks 'perception is more important than the product.' Distraict has been steadily going downhill since Susan Grey arrived and hopefully will escape the doldrums of her 'leadership' this year.

Excellent academic reputation -- Supt. is very liberal and self-serving -- Principle is not around or available -- teachers and staff other than those mentioned preform above avg. More like a University invironment than a place that cares for special needs -- very hands off.

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
