The staff and parents for the kids at this school cannot control mostly kids there. The kids run around like crazy. Not many people are supervising in the morning. The parents seat in benches and do nothing..

I am a very proud parent of Cesar E. Chavez Elementary School in Salinas CA. I consider this school an excellent rating because of the overall interest in the students wellfare. While we continue to improve on the state and federal standards, the environment at the school is first class. The administration, the teachers, and the student body make this a very special place for my children. I am very proud to know that we have a school who still cares about the developing the whole child and not just interested in what their test score is.

C sar Ch vez School is a fairly new elementary school in the Alisal U.S. District. The teachers and students are proud to be in a school that honors a great man and labor rights leader, C sar Ch vez. We take pride in the fact that our school strives to be PeaceBuilders in our community. For the last three years our students' test scores on the California API have increased which makes us especially glad that learning is taking place. Teachers at Ch vez are collaborative and very interested in making learning an enjoyable experience for kids. The Ch vez community wants our students to have an education that will provide skills and knowledge for a successful future. GO EAGLES!

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
