I love this school, because of the respect given to the students and parents. Parents are very involved and possitive. Students are expected to be self-motivated and self-directed. The philosophy is consistent throughout all classes. Students reccieve small group instruction and quite a bit of free time to work on projects or explore resources with in the room. There is excellent French, Music and computer classes. Though gym is offered weekly, I would say athletics is definately the weak point. I love the school. I feel that my children are encouraged to stretch in a very supportive and friendly way.
Westside Montessori provided the strong educational foundation that our two daughters needed for high school. This school met all of our expectations and our daughters give full credit to Westside as the institution that helped to prepare them to meet the challenges of both high school and college. Our older daughter has now graduated from Harvard Law School and practices law in Michigan,while the younger one is presently attending Columbia University and will spend the 2003-04 year attending Oxford - St. Peters. Kudos to Westside!
