I transferred to ACC from a private school. I can ascertain that the Great Schools rating is almost there. The school is urban and supports low-income, colored students for the most part. The environment is obviously that of its neighborhood- Brighton: urban and underachieving. However, the faculty themselves are indeed highly trained, motivated, and supportive, especially in the higher grade. The students make the statistics and the culture and many mature enough to attend state schools by the end. In all aspects, ACC is better than its neighbor Brighton High, which deserves it's measly 1/10 score. However, if you truly care about your student and his/her education, you wouldn't be looking at Brighton public schools in the first place (unless you are financially in the red). Good day.

Obviously I am biased, as I am a teacher at the school, but I can say with full honesty that ACC provides an outstanding, challenging education that vastly surpasses what I completed in a suburban high school.

I decided to attend ACC during the 2004-2005 school year, and it was the best decision I ever made. If you get the choice to attend ACC, do it. The headmaster, Mr. Howland, and all of the teachers, care about the students. They try to help as much as they can.

This is a fabulous school. It helped my child find a new way of looking at life. We love it.

Absolutely, because kids are an integral part of their own success. If they are forced into uncomfortable situations they shut down. If they explore their interestes..they blossom. Love not conformity.
