I just returned from a 6th grade field trip to the Sierra Nevada mountains. We climbed into a volcano, hiked to the base of a glacier, explored a ghost town, sat in a hot springs, and did math equations on the top of Devil's Postpile National Monument. It was an incredible outdoor classroom experience, and the kids and parents all learned so much!

Our students are clever and creative; our teachers are dedicated and enthusiastic; our administration is committed to excellence; our lunch program features locally grown organic vegetables; we have small classes; our music program is outstanding and our art shops are nationally recognized featuring ceramics, wood, metal, and paper (painting, drawing, printing, fundamentals) studios. Our buildings and grounds are well cared for in a beautiful, waterfront setting, rich with sea life, birds, and many animals for nature study. We have solar power and a well to water our flower and vegetable gardens. We provide in-class learning and out of school expeditions, including digging for dinosaur bones in Utah, trips to the Sierra, and travel to Ashland Shakespeare Festival. Our students participate in ballroom dance, soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and field and a variety of other sports. We are very lucky.
