I am a teacher a Proviso East for 9 years. I can tell you that the school has improved greatly regarding the rules and the enforcement of those rules. There has been zero tolerance for fighting and not doing the right thing. Now lets keep the students in class. Maybe I will have more than 10 parents out of 150 come to parent/teacher conferences!
proviso east has alot of problems. You can't get answer from adminstration about the school policy had book. Everyone you speak to has different answer. No one seems to know what going on. This is from a concern parent. I need help and answer now.

Proviso East is a poor school. There are like 30 students to one class. There is never any soap and paper towels in the bathroom. The students are very disruptive and disrespectful. The school is plagued with voilence. We have to come through metal detectors every morning! I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I am a graduate of PE and now I am a teacher...when I attended PE there were issues that existed much like many schools but they also had many College Prep Classes and Advanced Courses....many of which I was enrolled in....PE helped me earn College Credit while in HS and inspired me to become a teacher in sorts. After I became a teacher...I taught there for a while and some of they stories you hear are correct. There are fights and students acting unruly and the like. But all in all it was ok...a few bad apples.
