Martell is amazing. The passion the staff and principal show for the children is outstanding. I'm amazed by their committment and endless energy to give the kids the best education possible. I'm so glad I made the choice to move to Troy and come to Martell. My kids look forward to going to school.

The office staff and principle are wonderful! As for the teachers some of them are grouchy and have been there for a long time. The hallways are a mess because there are no lockers! I can't believe this school does not have lockers. It's very hard for the children to cram all their stuff on the hooks in the classrooms. I recently moved to Troy and was very disappointed in the buildings and lack of lockers.

I have a kindergarten at Martell Elementary and although the school year has just begun, I am disappointed that there is no art or music classes offered to the kindergarteners, is this due to cutbacks? Also, the hallways are a mess! Chairs, tables, cots, garbage cans are just 'stored' in the hallways. When I pick my child up, I have to dodge these things as I pass other parents and children. This jury is still undecided on this school.

Martell is a wonderful elementary school that welcomes - encourages - parent involvement at all levels. Academic programs are top-ranked in the State of Michigan, and music, sports, arts, media center and other extracurricular activities round out the elementary experience well. I agree with many other Martell parents that there are no bad teachers or offerings at Martell. Finally, the school has wonderful programs for learning disadvantaged (such as Reading Recovery) and gifted children. Everyone is welcome!
