My daughter attended only her 5th grade here (due to the school reorganization). Like Eastlawn, it's another fine Rantoul City School. We were very pleased with her education at Northview.

My daughter attended Northview elementary K-5. The administrator, Mrs. Hinton is strict, fair, and caring. The peacebuilders program that is used as a citizenship/character builder provides an organized method of positive feedback for good behavior. Students are also rewarded for their academic performance by each teacher. Northview students have generally had the highest ISAT/STS test scores of the Rantoul City Schools. The Parent-Teacher Organization is active in fundraising, and school activities. Available sports are volleyball, basketball, and track.

I go in every Monday and help with the Kindergarten reading group or play word games. Then I eat lunch with my child. I also attend and bring things to all school parties. Since I volunteer only on Mondays I do not burn out. : )

Our school gives us mandatory hours (15) that we must give to the school in one way or the other. It is very easy if you don't mind stuffing envelopes or being a lunch mom. I think they even give working moms the opportunities to work on paperwork.... More »
