Sea Cliff has small classes and (for the most part) excellent teachers. Unfortunately, in the six years my son has been there the school has has four principals. It would be nice if someone stuck around for a while.

We have a child in second grade and couldn't be more pleased! The teachers love kids and it comes through in a variety of ways. Yes, we do pay high taxes, but having a school like this makes it all worth it. It's a small town feel, everyone is friendly and wants students to succeed and reach their full potential. From the administration to the hall monitor, you won't find any better.

I have been A Teacher for the past 10 plus years and I can tell you.. this is one the greatest schools not a lot of people know about on Long Island. By the start of 1st grade most kids are reading at 2nd grade level.. teachers are GREAT! and due to the no school bus service.. it gives the place a small home town feel (best thing that could happen to a school),.. everyone at 8:15 is walking their kids to school laughing and talking to other parents, students and the teachers..most places bus the kids and the parents never meet the other students or parents they just put the kids and on bus and say goodbye and are there when the bus drops the kid off... playground is a meeting spot after school..everyone knows everyone and watches out for everyone and their children.. A hidden treasure..

The school is wonderful. The atmosphere is very Mayberry like. The teachers are excellent with very few exceptions. Two complaints, the special education department is truely inferior and disorganized, they are not very generous with services and our tax dollars. Also, Sea Cliff does not believe in the importance of teaching a second language. Our taxes are very high and I find both unexceptable. Move here for a great community and friendly people. It's a really nice place to raise children.

No. I have heard of teachers setting up FB pages on areas of study so students can use technology as a learning tool. All posts are public and private messages are disabled. I won't even friend former students. I do it as a rule-no hurt feelings.

No! As an educator, I don't want to be held responsible for what students are doing outside of the classroom.

Absolutely not. Most schools offer the homework question site through the school system. They do not need to be "friends" with their students through social networking sites.
