Unsatisfactory on most levels. The office staff is sub-par, the principal is a joke. The very first PTA meeting was entirely in Spanish which would have been fine, except that there was no translation to English at all. The lack of enthusiasm in the principal's voice alone should have been a red flag to me that the passion necessary to run an exceptional school was lacking entirely. If she is not excited about her school, how can others be???

What shame such a wonderful neihborhood has such a poorly ran school. My children went there last year and it was a bad experience. The two main problems are the principal and the lack of parent involvement. The lack of communication from administration was frustrating to parents AND teachers. Mrs. Paradise, Mr. Scholl, and Mrs Fiorenza are FANTASTIC teachers and if it were not for them we would have left long ago. Thankfully my kids will be at a new school next year.

I was a teacher at R.H. Dana ENF, a special education program adjacent to RH Dana. I had the opportunity to work with staff and students there for integration activities with my students. I saw a very rich environment which did well to meet the needs of the different cultures represented there. The teachers there had very creative methods of instruction, including a reading lab that allowed for some of my students to be able to participate with their peers. The music program was awesome and it really gave students interested in the arts the opportunity to participate and express themselves through the music. There were also a variety of extracurricular activities to provide enrichment activities for all atudents.

R.H. Dana Elementary has a great team of teachers, staff and parents. Both of my children have thrived there!

You get what your tax dollars pay for! Excellent school for the money in my opinion.

Check to see if students with disabilities are a priority because otherwise the state doesn't pay for that child to go to School if they don't have a disability your child has to be put on a waiting list for pre-k! if their not

1.Go on a tour of a school tour 2. Talk to the director (and the teacher your child will have) about what the students day like. 3. Watch school in session 4. Look out for red flags: neglected children at play, lazy, non engaging teachers
