Friendly, warm and helpful office staff. Administration goes above and beyond to make sure the students come first in educational as well as social aspects.
I've been a PTA involved parent at Hopewell for my daughter 6th thru 8th grade. I also had a son in 6th who struggled in LArts and Math. I could not have been more pleased with the staff's support!. They helped come up with solutions so much so that my son not only passed both classes (which was debatable), he made an 81 in math and 75 in LA. He attended Mrs. Pappas' math support class as an elective, and made a complete turn around. At HMS you have staff support, including the principal Mr. Thompson. If your child is not doing well in any area, parents need to step up and ask for help...its there for you. As a volunteer, I have to say that from the media center staff to the cafeteria staff, they are wonderful to work with! Life is good at HMS!
Having moved from Virginia, this was our first year at Hopewell. My daughter was in the 8th grade this past year, and adjusted very easily to her new environmnet. She has made some wonderful friends! All the kids seem to get along at this school. Teachers are supportive, and lots of after school activities/clubs for getting involved. Very strong parental involvement. Very happy with Hopewell!
