Wayland's alternative school, New Directions, was a godsend for my daughter. She had quit school altogether, when the principal helped me get in touch with Jeff Braggington from New Directions. My daughter was enrolled, and did a complete turnabout going from D's & E's to A's & B's. She was behind on her credits, but with Jeff, Robin, and Lona's help, and a lot of hard work, she graduated on time. They are very involved with the kids, and encourage them daily. Too bad Wayland doesn't acknowlege them enough. They need to beg to get the supplies they need, and the teachers will reach into their pockets for things not supplied. They also encourage and participate in community services. We need to let parents know more about this alternative for kids who are planning to quit.

Even though the school is going through budget problems the teachers really care about the students and their success. It is a wonderful school to send your children to. I would recommend it to anyone.
