As a former student at Ascenion Academy High School I rated this school very low. Why? Because we were free to do as we pleased as the first graduating class of 2007. The prinicple and the other staff didn't seem to care as much about the student yes there was a few but not many. The lunches were horrible and we found it easy to just leave either out of the front door or the side ones. My mother took my youngest sister out for many reasons due to the way they teach. Please as a graduate from this school do your research on both the charter school and the Catholic school.

Public schools in general struggle mightily with the challenges of sustaining three critical ingredients to ensuring student development, namely academic rigor, discipline and a safe environment. Ascension Academy and Ascension School have proven track records of success in all three categories. With any successful business it all starts with leadership. Dorwatha Woods optimizes compassion, clarity of vision and a servant leadership style. Under her watch she has been able to amass a staff that is second to none. This is way student academic performance is consistently high across the board at Ascension Academy and Ascension School. I would strongly recommend to any parent that they enroll their child into Ascension Academy and Ascension School.
