The school would be a great opportunity for a bright child. The school doesn't provide full scholarships. I hope this improves. They are missing out on some exceptional kids.

Pennfield's academic standards are unmatched. They seek excellence in every facet of the Pennfield education. We have a gifted child. She has attended the school since 5th grade. She has always been challenged intellectually. In grades 6, 7, and 8, considered upper school, the work load increases dramatically. Much is demanded of the students. The vast majority of them rise to the challenge. Teachers are enthusiastic and stimulate learning. The Headmaster is the best I have ever seen, and I've seen a few. There are many bright children at this school. The graduates gain acceptance to some of the best boarding schools in the country. This is what made us decide to send our child to Pennfield. It is the best decision we have ever made.

Pennfield is an outstanding school. The academic curriculum is challenging and teaches a child how to think critically. It teaches them to love learning. The school does standardized testing (ERBs) yearly to evaluate the children and effectiveness of its teachers and curriculum. I believe the testing assists children in preparing for future tests such as SATs. The teachers are very effective and care. The administration advocates respect for the individual and expects the same from its students. My child attended a competing private school in the area. Though equivalent academically, Pennfield provides a more wholesome environment. Teacher and administrators not only preach good values but live them. They are excellent role models. I recommend this school without reservation.

Pennfield provides a very positive learning experience for children in many aspects including encouraging children to express themselves. Unfortunately, they are having trouble with dealing with the kids that express themselves as bullies. They seem to deal with the problem in a too gentle nature. They are afraid to deal with the parents of these kids that have 2 or 3 other siblings in the school. Which leads me to believe that their concern is more about the tuiton instead of the kids who are affected by these bullies.
