This school has gone down as far as academics. Student safety is not a assured, parent involvement discouraged. Big disappointment. I had to move my children to private school.

Teachers truly care for the children. Curriculum is solid but creativity is also nurtured. Parent involvement is welcomed and many volunteer in classrooms regularly, although more parents are needed. Overall, a great school!

The quality of academics at Kidwell has been first-rate for the first two years of my son's time in elementary school. Both his teachers were outstanding and I hope his final year at Kidwell will be just as good. He has quite enjoyed most subjects, especially math, PE, and music, and looks forward to this upcoming year. I do not, however, like that information on school activities are provided to parents almost at the last minute (even as members of the PTA!), especially at the beginning of the year. I would like to know who my child's teacher is further in advance and would like to see the school calendar posted on the ISD web site sooner as well. Overall, though, Kidwell is a great school and I highly recommend it!

My son just completed Kindergarten at Kidwell. I found his teacher and the principal to be very involved in student success. My son had strengths in reading and math, but had a difficult time behaviorally fitting into the routine and working independently. The ability to exchange information via email between conferences helped me tremendously to be involved in his efforts at improvement. The school was open to requests that were reasonable. The PTA at Kidwell is very active.

They could be doing much more to earn money by collecting more then just BoxTops & Soup Labels. There are Capri Sun Drink Pouches, Used cell phones, laptops, empty ink/toner cartridges. They should look at TerraCycling.com What is PTA REALLY doing?

It is great to teach our kids to give to others-within limits. Support without demanding! I boycott school fundraisers; donate elsewhere to show real value in helping where needed.

From the asking perspective (such as schools asking students to donate to causes) frequent appeals for donations creates real problems for families who cannot afford to donate to every appeal or cause. Stop pressuring kids for money.
