I personally love cumberland. I'm a senior right now and I can honestl say I've enjoyed every year. I still don't understand how the school has gotten such a bad reputation. I haven't really had a problem with anyone my whole time in regional. In my opinion the best part about going to regional is the variety of people. The whole 'clique' atmosphere isn't really visible. Everyday you will see people coming from all different backgrounds communicating with each other.
As a student at cumberland regional right now, i think there are many problems that could be done but they are trying be fixed. Honestly, i think it is the students that do not cooperate with the teachers and principals. The principals are finding the problems and doing their best at fixing them. All the sports teams are great and i cant say anything bad about them because they work hard after school. There are so many great clubs to be involved with and many teachers that care so much about how you do in school. They do their best to get you through those 4 tough years. Cumberland is a great high school and i wouldnt want to go to any other school.
Having seen my two children go through this school, the only thing I can say is I am glad it's over for them. Arbitrary rules, and arbitrary discipline, very much a school of 'haves and have nots' and a lot of problems get swept under the rug. Bigotry and bias an everyday issue. I will say something positive, this school has a sports boosters club that does many good things for the school and there are many teachers who care about the kids. The math program leaves alot to be desired though, and the guidance office could use more informed staff. In all, just glad my kids are done with it.
