Monroe Elem is a good school. Most of the teachers are truly excellent! The principals greet our children by name. They truly care about the education and care of our children. A few children come from really rough homes and need to learn how to take responsibility for their actions. All the teachers seem to want what is best for ALL the students.
It is sad that we have behavorial problems at this school. It is the parents job to handle this and teach the children respect of others. To respect the oppurtunity to learn. I have 3 children their and so far so good. Last year I had a problem with my youngest in K he regressed and his teacher was not very, should I dare say, good. She was not intune to a 5/6 yr old. This year in first grade he is excelling. In this world we all have to overcome something. Learning how to learn when everything else is falling apart is a good lesson. Regardless of what others do in my childrens classes, I try my best to say You have to not do like others but do what YOU KNOW is RIGHT. I do not think it is the teachers job to teach our children that.
MES is an awesome school! I have been on the PTO and have had 2 children go thru this great school. The staff is wonderful and the teachers are great! MES is the best!
