The best parts about the academy are the athletic programs and the teachers. They are always willing to help. The senior school environment is also really friendly. It's a fun place to be in and I always look forward to going to school. The one major negative about the senior school is all of the homework, compared to public high schools we definitely have more homework but in the long run it will pay off. I also think that the cafeteria food is horrible that's a huge downside. Overall it's not too bad :)
My daughter has attened for over 7 years. Your child will be challenged. Academics first, athletics are just an added bonus.

I have students who attended public high schools and one child who was a student-athlete an attended grades 9 through 12. While expensive, I belive the Academy was well woth it for my child. The curriculum was demanding and the teachers were wonderful. The athletic programs and coaching were quite good. I found that my child and their classmates were far better prepared for college than their public school peers, and were better behaved with generally higher goals. I would do it all over again.

Aug, 2007 - current parents of rising 2nd and 5th graders who started in pre-K. The teachers have been universally wonderful, and the learning fantastic. Expect a lot of homework very early. I cannot say for sure that the tuition fully justifies the difference in curriculum and results from local public schools; it's incredibly high. I also think the current administration needs to be more responsive to parents' participation and suggestions... we are customers after all! Teachers are easy to communicate with, and know our children well.
