Armada Elementary is one of the best around. We live in East China school district and send our son to Armada. They have a wonderful handwriting program. The one think i do have to say is that the parents groups are very clicking. I feel a bit look down on by many of them. I don't know if it is because we are out-of-district or a younger family. Also the school is not math or science or even reading based school.

As a parent who recently pulled my kid from this school, the administration is unacceptable. They apply an unwritten, negative reinforcement disciplinary program. When I contronted the principal about the undocumented policies, she placed blame on vague 'others' she had to answer to. After my child had a minor behavior problem, rather than working on a positive, parent-teacher based behavior improvement program, he was suspended. I challenged the suspension and was politely encouraged to take my son elsewhere. The punishment based, age inappropriate discipline (i.e. suspension for a 3 year old) at this school is administered by a principal that, through my research, appears to have allowed her teaching certificate to expire 10 years ago. It is evident to me that the administration cares less about the children than they do about policies, procedures and politics.

This is the greatest elementary school in Macomb County, they have very caring teachers, and staff. I love Armada Schools, it was one the smartest decision We ever made to move to the Armada School District. If you are a parent thinking of looking for great schools condsider Armada.

They could be doing much more to earn money by collecting more then just BoxTops & Soup Labels. There are Capri Sun Drink Pouches, Used cell phones, laptops, empty ink/toner cartridges. They should look at TerraCycling.com What is PTA REALLY doing?

It is great to teach our kids to give to others-within limits. Support without demanding! I boycott school fundraisers; donate elsewhere to show real value in helping where needed.

From the asking perspective (such as schools asking students to donate to causes) frequent appeals for donations creates real problems for families who cannot afford to donate to every appeal or cause. Stop pressuring kids for money.
