My daughter is graduating in the class of 2009 after 4 tough years in the VHS IB program. Was the rigorous academics and stress worth it for a teenager who devoted practically all her time towards academics, sports, friendships, and community service. I think the answer is yes! The diversity of VHS will never be matched by most high schools in all of Orange County. This is because VHS has programs to train the IVY league high achiever to the disadvantaged students who have both have the passion and commitment to succeed. VHS has created the opportunities for any student who has the maturity, the drive, and the intelligence to strive to be the best they can be. Success can be found through the many personal stories at VHS where the diversity of its student population and communities will always be what makes VHS a special learning institution.
VHS is definitely a diamond in the rough, and I could not be happier that my children are lucky enough to attend such a gem of a school. My children are not in the VHS district and knew practically NOBODY when they began their high school experience. The staff from the teachers to the aides and everyone in between is beyond excellent. In my opinion, every student is embraced (from the at risk student to the high achiever) and given the tools necessary for success. Students need to do their part, but teachers and counselors will light the path for them and they genuinely and sincerely wish success for each student. Unlike most large schools in our district, the staff makes honest attempts to form connections and relationships with their students. I can not rave enough about this school. Go Tigers!
Valencia High is excellence school, especially for GATE program. My kids and family love this school.
Our daughter attended vhs 4 yrs. She took several ap classes there and enjoyed learning. There are many awesome teachers and staff @ vhs who really do care for your students!
