this school has its moments where you want to leave and go to another school. the people are kind of stock up, and caring only about looks or sports. Outsiders and new kids are not that much accpected here at all. there is a lot of rudeness to other students and is not taken care off at all. Some teachers only care about last names too. Schooling is not great, because of the not good help to some students that actually need the help the most.

Wonderful school. My daughter attended Kindergarten at Colton and what a truely amazing place. I was a little worried the first day watching a 5 year old go into a school with 12th graders but my fears were put to rest quickly. The older students act as mentors and look out for the younger ones. They give high 5's in the hall as they pass by and never once did I see a disrespectful or rude child. Everyone there from the staff to the teachers to the students are great. I can't say enough good things about the teachers, namely the kindergarten teacher. Unfortunatly we had to move. We haven't found another school that even comes close. The parent who claimed outsiders weren't welcome...I disagree. We were outsiders as well and were welcomed with open arms.

This is from the viewpoint of a sophomore who attended Colton school for 9 years. I did not enjoy the atmosphere of colton. The academics were limited and gifted students were not encouraged. I was appalled at the lack of professional behavior regarding the teachers and the poor counseling offered. Outsiders/nonfarmers are not socially accepted and the town is very inhospitable to these student. After realizing how limiting this school was, I transferred and realized in full that my new school was outstanding in comparison to Colton. I feel lucky that I transferred schools when I did so that I may receive a better education that encourages my academic gifts instead of stifling them.

We are new to the school district and our child comes home daily with a new appreciation for her education and educators. As parents we are pleased at the helpfulness of the staff. Our daughter has been welcomed with open arms and warm hearts by both staff and students. We are encouraging our extended family to also attend the Colton School District.
