This school is great for academic quality and overall strong moral teaching. That being said, if your child doesn't fit the mold of being just like every other child in their class, you will encounter a hard time here. Communication with teacher and principal seems to occur only when significant problems explode, not when minor issues that could have been used as learning and molding experiences for the child to learn from occur. I would seriously hesitate to enroll your student here if they have even a hint of any type of learning disability, social integration issue, ADHD, or physical disability. Although it is a Catholic school, the Christian principles it is based on were not always enacted in my child's situation. Allowances are not made for differences or students who require more than the basic classroom time, more supervision or guidance or 1:1 teaching.
I cannot praise St. Joseph enough!, especailly our principal. In a time where children lack parental supervision and overall respect for others, St. Joseph helps the children to become better rounded students, friends and learn to respect themselves and others. The teachers have a great open door that parents and students can take advantage of for further guidance and academics. Outstanding overall.
I take back my glowing review previously posted on here. It was heart-breaking to see the school decline from the great standards I had seen first hand as a former student compared to what the school has become over the last 5 or so years. Sadly, I removed my children because it was ridiculous to keep them there any longer. Not worth the money and unhappiness.
Sending my kids to this school is a huge financial sacrifice but worth every penny. The academics, discipline, and extra ciriculars are fantastic.
